Weeks of planning had gone down the drain. A group dedicated to intelligence gathering called Videre had entrusted Luce, a light orange fox from a town in Lucatago, with the mission of investigating the research of a certain scientist in the Academy of Alumbra. The plan was perfect. He had been tracing the layout of the Academy into a mental map since he arrived in the city and monitored the schedules of scientists and church guards alike. 8 PM should have been the perfect time to sneak in through the entrance route he had outlined; it was when the brightest lights across the grassy campus were the lamps placed along the paths to each facility, when the busy chatter of the day became the barely audible murmurs of those who still wandered around, and, most importantly, when the rotation between guards from the day shift and the night shift happened. Luce winced when the black feline tending to his wounds pressed both paws against his ankles, first his right and then his left. The pressure felt sharp, like needles digging into his skin to stitch an invisible wound with a thin thread. The priest's paws were glowing a pastel violet, the same color as the highlights on his eyes, emanating a wave-like aura that spread over the fox's limbs. It was the only light source in that room, other than the moonlight gently brushing their fur through the windows surrounding them. No matter how often he experienced the wonders of Akumu's healing magic, it always made him grit his teeth and grip the bedsheets underneath him. At least he didn't feel the urge to kick him away like he once did as a teenager.

Starting Observations: After being forcibly woken up with Excitas gas, the patient immediately proceeded to bite his own fingers. He failed to notice me until I tapped the glass of the containment chamber, approximately 10 seconds after they began. By the time that happened, ID0025 had already ripped off half his index and middle fingers. After the last experiment, this left the patient with only 5 remaining full fingers.
